Microbiological leaching has been use as an alternative approach to conventional hydrometallurgical methods of extraction. Future sustainable development involves measures that reduce our dependence on non-renewable raw materials and on the demand for primary resources. New resources for metals are developed with the help of novel technologies. In addition, improvement of previously existed mining techniques resulted in metal recovery by the sources that have not been of economic interest up to today.
